Columbia Woodlands is seeking an experienced Director of Weddings and Events to join our growing team! A self-disciplined and creatively motivated individual will thrive on our team. Duties and Responsibilities


  • Oversee the wedding and events departments and manage its staff
  • Operate and maintain a computerized system for responding, so-ordinating and tracking sales enquires, booking and availability
  • Managing the entire process in planning all weddings and events to ensure company standards and expectations are met
  • Meet prospective clients for show-arounds for weddings, private functions, and corporate functions
  • Research competitors on Wedding trends, offerings and pricing to ensure the company remains competitive and relevant in the marketplace.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports outlining the Business on the Books for the current and following years
  • Take ownership for recurring challenges and ensure the issues are resolved
  • Assist in promotional and marketing activities
  • Contribute to the preparation of annual sales and events targets
  • Liaise and maintain strong relationships with other departments to ensure the effective, efficient and smooth running of events
  • Work closely with all members of the events team to provide support and leadership

Qualifications and Skills


  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in hospitality management or related field
  • At least 3+ years of wedding or event planning experience
  • Some knowledge of different religions and religious practices
  • Proficient in all Microsoft office applications
  • Strong networking and negotiating skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Detail-oriented, methodical, and creative!

    Duties and Responsibilities


    • Answer telephone calls and emails; direct these messages and/or calls to the appropriate staff
    • Help create budgets for departments and ensure budgets are followed
    • Monitor office supplies and order new supplies when necessary
    • Organize meetings and manage databases
    • Handle accounts payable and receivable
    • Active in posting jobs, interviewing, and making hiring/firing decisions with the owner
    • Identify opportunities for process and office management improvements
    • Provide other administrative support as necessary, including scheduling group meetings, maintaining calendars, doing research, and creating reports

      Qualifications and Skills


    • High School Diploma/GED Required
    • At least 2 years of Customer Service Experience in the hospitality industry
    • Some Supervising experience preferred
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Organizational skills/attention to detail
    • Conflict management skills

    Overview


    Columbia Woodlands would love to welcome a Grounds Maintenance Crew Member to our team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring/maintaining all the landscape and performing a variety of duties to keep up with any maintenance issues that arises.


    Responsibilities and Skills


    • Monitor and maintain the health of all plants
    • Mow grass, edge and fertilize Lawns
    • Water and feed plants
    • Install and maintain seasonal plants
    • Mulch, edge, and weed gardens and flower beds
    • Upkeep parking Lots, fountains, sidewalks
    • Snow removal
    • Maintenance experience is a plus (Fixing doors, minor plumbing issues, changing light bulbs, Etc.)
    • Prune and trim trees and bushes
    • Notice and deal with pest problems that could damage plants
    • Extensive knowledge of regional plant life
    • Knowledge of fertilizers
    • Ability to bend, stoop, and lift
    • Ability to remain on your feet for long periods of time
